Prompted by an urgent telegram, Yancy returns to New Orleans to save his mansion from a carpetbagger. On the voyage back, Derringer is trailed along the Mississippi by three vengeful card cheats.

Charged with cleaning up crime on Gallatin Street, Yancy finds himself at odds with the villainous Toby Cook and enlists the help of a sea captain who is transporting an explosive new invention.

City administrator John Colton entrusts Yancy with an Army payroll that is to be taken to Natchez, Mississippi on Yancy's riverboat—the Sultana—but robbers have other plans.

When Colton is challenged by an ace duelist, Yancy helps him search for a way out of a deadly duel, all while attempting to impress a beautiful visitor from Boston with whom he finds himself smitten.

When a freighter arrives in New Orleans, Colton suspects smuggling. Sent to the freighter in search of clues, Yancy encounters the Irish waif who assists them in their investigation.

Colton finds himself with quite the workload: fending off a crime czar from wooing his visiting sister, and attempting to build a romantic blockade between her and Yancy.

A messenger is sent to New Orleans by a former general in the Civil War, but is killed before he can reveal what happened to a fortune that was taken from Richmond, Virginia.

Yancy investigates counterfeit money that's being passed throughout the Quarter. His investigation brings him into contact with Lonesome Jackson, a wealthy miner who is seeking a wife.

An Army officer with vengeance in his heart tries to stop a presidential pardon. Without the pardon, a man is scheduled to die before a firing squad, leaving it up to Yancy to recover this pardon.
Episodio 10
Several shopkeepers are found robbed and murdered after selling their properties to a group of gentleman from Connecticut. Yancy investigates and soon finds a land grab scheme may be in play.
Episodio 11
Falsely accused of complicity in a waterfront property theft, Yancy suspects that his accuser may be throwing charges around as a means of keeping a set of grave robberies buried underground.
Episodio 12
Yancy spends the holiday season searching for the murderer of his uncle Henry Spinner, and hunting down his late father's pre-War fortune with the help of his old hound dog, Dixie.
